Cape Florida Light House Maternity Session | Miami Family Photographer

Hi there,

This is a story of love, hope and strength.

I am honored to have been able to capture a maternity portrait session for my dear friend Fernanda at the beautiful Cape Florida Lighthouse in Key Biscayne. Fernanda and I have known each other for over 15 years. She was actually the person who introduced me to my husband Juan and I could not be more grateful! She has always been a tremendous friend. She is the kind of friend that goes above and beyond for those she loves and she does it unconditionally.

She has a beautiful family. Her husband Claudio is a great hard working man who loves her and supports her in everything she does. Her daughter Stella is a smarty girl and at 7 years old could rule the world. I have always considered them lucky to have such a beautiful family. What I never imagined were the challenges they were experiencing to grow their family.

With the desire of expanding their family, Fernanda and Claudio got pregnant. What they never expected was having few miscarriages. This has to be the hardest, most emotional circumstance for a mother to go through. Losing a child has to be the hardest thing in life and I praise the mothers who are brave and strong enough to go through it.

Fernanda and Claudio’s hope and love for their family did not discourage the idea of having another child, so they decided to endure in all sorts of treatments including rounds of IVF. This treatments are emotional, could be painful and long. Fernanda is a warrior and she was determined.

Three years passed and Fernanda and Claudio decided to stop trying and accept and cherished what God had set aside for them with their baby girl Stella. They are proud and grateful for having such a special family and that was their strength through this test in life.

Now this might sound like a sad story but it is not! It is a story of joy, faith and blessings. Three years later , nine months ago, Fernanda got pregnant and it was the most beautiful unexpected gift God could bring to her. Just when they understood that God’s plans would be different, they received a blessing that it was meant to be but on its own time.

These are few images captured few weeks before Fernanda and Claudio were welcoming baby Nicolas to this world and even though we could not finish the session due to thunder shower in Miami, I got to capture few shots of their love, strength and joy.

Now that Nicolas is here a new photo session is in the works I cant wait to meet him.
